It is a common custom for Hindu keralites to have two kinds of birthdays in a year - a birth'date' (as per the English Calendar) and a birth'day' (as per the Malayalam Calendar, which is usually chosen for celebrations). Sometimes they happen to come on the same day, but mostly both the occasions come on different days, Similarly, my blog too has a birth'date' & a birth'day'.
Though I created my food blog few years back and published my first post - Marie Custard Pudding on 22/3/12, I took food blogging seriously from 27/6/2013 and inaugarated it by publishing Broccoli Rice. So, I consider the former to be my blog's birthdate and the latter to be it's birthday.
Considering this situation you must have understood by now that its my blog's FIRST BIRTHDAY. And what more can make me happy than to see my blog being accepted by many of you - Bloggers & Non Bloggers alike. The 'like's and 'share's I get on my FACEBOOK page, the friendly and motivating comments I get on my published posts in my blog and otherwise, a mutual support and increasing friendship circle with other food bloggers, have all made this journey of mine so worthwhile so far. I hope I'll be able to continue like this or maybe even better than this.
For those who have been a part of Suji's Cooking Lab - a very BIG THANKS and for those who haven't - "There's still time, do have a look on my little attempts at cooking good food and sharing good recipes on my blog. If you find them interesting, do join in and try out the simple and easy dishes I have presented in My Space.
Now, onto the dish that I've prepared specially for the occasion. ...
Cakes/Desserts are the main part of every birthdays. So here I've attempted to make a dessert - Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake.
It is in fact a combination of two desserts that I have already posted here in my blog before - Cheesecake - Indianized Version and the Easy Chocolate Pudding.
I made the cheesecake first and then topped it with the chocolate mousse that was easily prepared in the microwave. Kept it in the fridge for a night and had it happily the next day. My family loved it too. It was so yummy and wonderfully delicious that I have decided to try it out again. Though I wanted to prepare this specially on this day, I didn't take the chance to do so coz I didn't know how it would turn out and if it didn't go well then I may not have anything special to post on my blog's birthday. So made this a few days ahead and very happy to share it with you today.
I guess I have written enough already, so please check the respective links for the recipe.
THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR BEING PART OF MY LITTLE BLOG & COOKING EXPERIMENTS. HOPE YOU KEEP SUPPORTING ME WITH YOUR VALUABLE OPINIONS AND IF POSSIBLE DO TRY THE EASY RECIPES YOU FIND HERE AND/OR SHARE THEM WITH YOUR FRIENDS.
