Broccoli Rice



A variety rice dish made with broccoli. Tastes best with any raita of your choice. 


Ingredients

Broccoli florets - 1 cup
Basmati rice - 2 cups
Onion - 2
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Oil/Ghee - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Coriander leaves - for garnishing

Method

Wash the rice and cook in a cooker with 3 cups water and little salt. Switch off flame when 1 whistle comes. Cut the broccoli florets into bite-size pieces and immerse them in hot water for 2 mins. In a pan, add oil, then add the sliced onions & saute , add ginger garlic paste & saute till the raw smell goes and onions becomes golden brown. Then add the broccoli pieces, masala powders & salt. Saute for 5-6 mins. The broccoli shouldn't get overcooked. Add cooked rice and mix well carefully. Garnish with coriander leaves.
